Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data Candidature ("we", "us") collects when you use getcandidature.online, why we collect it, and the choices you have. If you have a question, write to contact@getcandidature.online.
Data we collect
- Account data: your email address, display name, chosen role (Applicant or Creator) and a securely hashed password if you sign up with email.
- Google sign in data: if you use Google, we receive your Google account identifier, email address, name and profile picture link. We never receive your Google password.
- Profile data you add: bio, skills, portfolio link and Discord username.
- Openings: the content creators publish, such as titles, descriptions, roles, tags, slots and questions.
- Applications: the openings you apply to, your answers, notes, statuses, dates, and any message a creator sends you.
- Technical data: a session cookie, and server logs kept by our host, which may include your IP address, browser type and the pages requested.
Why we use it
- To create and secure your account and keep you signed in.
- To show openings, send applications to creators, and show creators the people who applied.
- To protect forms against bots with a proof of work check (Altcha) that runs in your browser and does not track you.
- To prevent abuse, fix problems and keep the service running.
Our legal bases are the performance of our agreement with you (the Terms of Service), our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure, and your consent where we ask for it.
Who can see your data
- Creators see your display name, the answers and notes you send to their opening, and for profile applications your bio, skills, portfolio link and Discord username. They can see that you are pending as soon as you apply.
- Everyone can see published openings and the display name of the creator who posted them.
- Service providers: Hostinger hosts the site and database. Google provides sign in if you choose it and serves the fonts used on the site. jsDelivr delivers the Altcha widget script.
We do not sell your personal data and we do not show third party advertising.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account exists. When you delete your account in Settings, we delete your account, profile, openings, the applications sent to them, and your own application requests right away. Server logs kept by our host are deleted on their regular schedule.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your data, to object to or restrict some processing, and to withdraw consent. You can edit or delete most data yourself in Settings. For anything else, email contact@getcandidature.online. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
Passwords are hashed, the site is served over HTTPS, forms are protected against cross site requests, and access to the database is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, so use a password you do not use anywhere else.
Children
Candidature is not meant for children under 13. If you are under the age of digital consent in your country, use the service only with permission from a parent or guardian. If you believe a child gave us data without permission, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy. When we make important changes, we will update the date above and show a notice on the site.
